Checked the John Mayer blog. It's good to know that I'm not crazy proclaiming Paramore as one of the better bands to come out of the emo pack. I read an article on Spin explaining the emo vocal style. I think the topic nails it on the head when the writer states that most emo singers have no sense of rock history and would rather imitate vocal stylings that their contemporiaries already do. Hayley Williams at least had some vocal training from her church days before joining PMore.
