Filipinos, REPRESENT!

Mei Melancon courtesy of IMDB.com

Apparently, Filipinos are mutants. The X-Men kind. I am happy that my race is represented in the latest Brett Ratner film X-Men 3. Mei Melancon (Rush Hour 2, Kitchen Confidential) is playing Psylocke, the baddie telepathic assasin next to Magneto and his group.

Love the fact.

Now I wish I was her. I mean, she gets to act and see Hugh Jackman and Shawn Ashmore in the flesh.

Let's not get into the fact that she's 5'7" and is a hottie.

Damn my Filipino genes.

"Bring Out Your Dead!"

Or I guess your resolutions, take your pick.

The year's coming to an end and I think I have heard everyone's New Year's resolution at work. Nilly and I haven't made a resolution in probably forever (okay, last year, I attempted (after not breaking my resolution not to make a resolution) and probably commited to 90% of it, failing at the losing weight thing) but here's something that I've always passed on to ANYONE attempting to lose weight or gauging whether they need to go on a weight-loss program as their New Year's resolution.

It's a humorous outlook on Dieting from the defunct Rosie Magazine from way back. Enjoy!!!!

YOU KNOW IT'S TIME TO DIET WHEN...

Jenny Craig calls you, herself.

You convince yourself muumuus are fashionable.

Yourt husband is your goal weight.

You use pliers to zip up your jeans.

The XXXL T-shirt you bought for sleeping fits like a tank top.

You order a half-gallon in ice cream, and the twerp behind the counter asks you if you want a spoon.

You get your thyroid checked weekly.

Your neck is no longer visible.

Your fat clothes have become your thin clothes.

Strangers ask you when your baby is due.

Sex with your partner feels like a threesome.

You find a recent snapshot and realize the camera adds 40 pounds.

You'll only buy the clothes with the word STRETCH on the label.

The saleswoman at Lane Bryant can't help you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Post Christmas Greetings

Thanks again for all the well-wishes, everyone! I am really grateful.

And to all, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was busy. It was hectic but well worth it. Got a bunch of great presents but I think the best present was spending time with the hubby.

It was heaven. Sleeping in, eating, watching movies. Loved everything about it.

Now the work day approaches. It sucks.

But again, the season gave me something to hold on to. For that, I am glad that I still have Nilly to be with me this season.

To all my family and friends, have a great week and happy holidays!

Here's To You...

I'm taking a short detour from my usual pointless ramblings to commemorate my Aunt Rosie.

This morning, she passed away.

The feeling, being told over the phone was just overwhelming. I definitely was in denial. Part of me was saying, "But I just saw her!" and part of me was saying, "She has moved on."

It is strange that I feel this much pain and loss since I saw so little of her my entire life. Physically, we've probably met up every 7 years but in every other way, she had always been part of me. She never forget to send me birthday cards and scribbled notes when I was growing up. She invited me to visit her in Florida when I moved to the East Coast. She gave us a lovely wonderful wedding present when Nilly and I got married. She took care of us when we were visitors for my cousin's wedding. She watched over my parents as they stayed on as tourists.

I still have her picture. I still could hear her voice. I still could remember the scent of roses against her skin during Caroline's wedding.

She was more than my godmother. She was more than my dad's sister. She was someone who made sure I wouldn't forget.

Auntie, wherever you are, I hope for your speedy arrival in God's arms.

I HOPE YOU DANCE
Artist: Lee Ann Womack Lyrics

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance, I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

Casting A Star

Mike Ausiello of TV Guide had some lovely information this week in regards to Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls.

Let's start with a plea of help from Rob Thomas, creator of VM:

Question: Yay, Wallace is back on Veronica Mars! What else can we look forward to when the second half of the season kicks off? — John

Ausiello: The show is working on its own version of "Aaron Echolls: The E! True Hollywood Story" to be cut into an upcoming episode, and exec producer Rob Thomas needs our help. You see, the spoof is supposed to feature an interview with the actor playing Echolls in the TV-movie "The Aaron Echolls Story," but in a funny twist, Rob is having a tough time casting the role. "We actually attempted to book Peter Gallagher," Thomas says, "but we didn't have enough money in our budget for Peter's agents to 'take it seriously.'" Now this is where we come in. Rob is curious who AA readers think should "play" Harry Hamlin's evil alter ego. Although he admits "it's doubtful we'll actually be able to book their top choice, we may give it a shot." OK, guys, it's not every day that the man in charge of TV's coolest show comes directly to AA for casting tips, so let's not disappoint him. Send me your suggestions by Friday, Dec. 23, and I'll post a list of the top finalists in an upcoming AA. Oh, and to make my life a little easier, please write "Armchair Casting Director" in the subject line. Contrary to rampant speculation, I don't have a team of eight assistants helping me put out this column every week.

*** I've cast my vote. My nominees are: James Spade (I know he's got another day time job already but he'd be perfect), Willie Aames (because let's face it, he can be an evil person) and Greg Evigan of BJ and the Bear (I know, left field, right?). Cast now!***

Question: Usually I am not one to complain, but I must point out that you have been seriously lacking on Gilmore Girls spoilers lately. — Tammy

Ausiello: Cut me a little slack, Tammy. 'Tis the season when the entire TV biz toddles off to Aspen for three weeks, so scoop/spoilers are about as scarce as watchable Susan scenes on Desperate Housewives. Luckily, my Gilmore mole had decent enough cell reception on the slopes to tell me that Episode 13 — which is slated to air on Jan. 24 — marks the long-awaited return of Friday-night dinners at the Gilmore manse. This is the first time Emily, Richard, Lorelai and Rory will be alone in the same room together since the Big Split of '05 last May, so expect the Amy Sherman-Palladino-penned outing to be brimming with cathartic outbursts. And it's not just recent events that get dredged up during the meal-cum-melee, which goes on for a record eight scenes. At one point, Emily reopens a 20-year-old wound when she lashes out at Lorelai for getting pregnant and ruining her life. Now that's a table read I would've paid big money to be at. We're talking Rose Bowl-type money.

***I bet things will really be awkwrd now that Christopher will be the one paying for Rory's college, huh??? Let's hope things with Chris won't peter out like S1 when he didn't have money and Rory had to go back to the grandparents with her tail tucked between her legs.***

Question: First, thanks for all of your Gilmore Girls info, especially the news about Scott Patterson re-signing. My question is about Sean Gunn. I read that he has chosen not to return for GG's seventh season. Do you know how AS-P is going to handle Kirk's absence? — Vickie

Ausiello: Nothing could be further from the truth. Sean — and Kirk — will both be returning next season. Oh, and this just in: David Sutcliffe will be back for at least five more episodes this season.

Question: Wondering if you have any scoop, spoilers regarding Without a Trace. — Barb

Ausiello: How about a Trace/Gilmore hybrid scoop? Keiko Agena — that's GG's Lane to you — will get a chance to showcase her dramatic chops on Trace this February, when she plays a 23-year-old Japanese rape victim who was assaulted five years ago by a U.S. Marine stationed in Tokyo. Cut to the present, when the Marine who took the rap for the crime goes missing, and Jack's crew discovers that he may have been wrongly convicted. They must track down Keiko in order to find clues.

*** An eye raise for once. Maybe I'll give this one a preview.***

Anywhoo, I still have to listen to the poscast (still getting over the Matt Czuchry/ Logan Huntzberger name calling incident and that was a few eps ago).

Other news on my front:

Vu will be having a show at the Harrisburg Museum which started last week and will be going until the end of January. He has another exhibit in March and that will be in downtown Lancaster. For those curious as to how his Tribeca show went last September? He did well. He sold 15 out of his 20 piece exhibit. He promised me that he'd update his work that had sold on his site. When that will happen... well, it might be forever.

DeAnn has also moved out of blogspot and into her own site. So anything remotely related to entertainment, read her stuff. It's an interesting read.

Happy Wednesday!

Christmas Movies

Currently, I am tired of listening to Christmas music. There's only one Christmas album that I'm digging right now and it has Ben Fold's "Bizarre Christmas Incident" and Jack Johnson's politically correct "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer". Other than that, I am just done.

Nilly and I have different perceptions of Christmas. Not making him shallow (or me ultra religious), he thinks of Christmas as a commercial season. I prefer celebrating the season as a secular event.

We try not to discuss it because he and I end up disagreeing. He says I am annoying since I always tell him I don't want any Christmas presents. I get annoyed with him because he still goes out and gets me something that I once liked on a whim rather than saving money.

I don't think this will be something we're going to stop arguing about any time soon.

Anyway, today was my day-off. As I told Ames, it was going to be spent cleaning the house and grocery shopping. That I did. With the help of Season 4 of Will and Grace on the TV, I was able to get a majority of my cleaning done. Threw out quiz papers, packed away school books and cleaned out the dining room table filled with Ikea catalogs and week old mail. I don't know how things got so out of hand!

So, if you're like me, motivated to clean when something is on TV, here are a few Christmas movies that are great for background noise (or an excuse to sit down and take a break).

A Charlie Brown Christmas
All I Want for Christmas (with a very young Thora Birch)
Die Hard 1 & 2 (I didn't say that it's all feel good!)
The Grinch
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Have to love this classic!)
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Love Actually
While You Were Sleeping
Frosty the Snowman
Nightmare Before Christmas
Narnia (Great movie, if you haven't caught it on the big screen yet)
The Muppets Christmas Carol (just because Statler and Waldorf as crabby ghosts isn't a far stretch)

I haven't included Miracle on 24th Street (haven't seen it in its entirety), It's A Wonderful Life (not allowed to watch it at home) and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (when has Chevy Chase become funny?).

So there it is. Add to the list your favorites!

Sending Out an S.O.S.

It's that time again, folks. Kristin from E!Online is doing her yearly Save One Show (SOS) campaign.

I don't know if you guys remember but last year, Veronica Mars outpolled Arrested Development. Because of the disparity (50% of the polled votes were for VM versus AD's 25%). This year, these 2 shows are campaigning again. Arrested Development hasn't been given the official funeral papers but it definitely had lost its Monday night slot at Fox. VM, despite its growing fanbase (and absence of UPN in thousands of cities) isn't pulling in the numbers America's Top Model is pulling.

Maybe UPN should poll how many people download the episodes online so that they can watch it... Or give it a bigger base like CBS. VM made good numbers on CBS when it was being aired last summer.

The people are out there. Just open your eyes!

Anyway, here's the list of shows Kristin is polling. If you have any other shows you want to save but aren't on this list, email her.

7th Heaven: Will end in May.

Alias: Ditto.

Arrested Development: No official cancellation, but it looks imminent. There is talk of a pickup by Showtime.

Charmed: The girls' contracts are up, and WB sources say it is likely to be canceled in May.

The Comeback: Already gone. Some of us still can't get over it. We don't wann see that?

Everwood: Despite the best season yet, the WB has pulled it off the air till March. Not the best sign.

Fat Actress: No announcement yet of a return.

Kitchen Confidential: Officially canceled.

Night Stalker: ABC has officially canceled it, however, the Sci Fi Channel has picked up the episodes already shot.

Reunion: Fox has shut down production. There are rumblings the WB might want to pick it up. (Note: I found out the identity of Sam's killer. We can discuss in Monday's chat whether you want to know!)

Threshold: CBS canceled it.

Veronica Mars: Highly debatable whether it belongs on this list. There are no signs UPN is considering canceling VM, but given the lower than deserved ratings, it still needs support.

The West Wing: On the fence. This could be the last season.

What I Like About You: Sources say it is likely to end in May.

Will & Grace: Will end in May.

Something Only a Fan Will Do

I triple dog dare you to write to this email address.

I won't tell you who it belongs to but if you sit down, take a bite and get a clue, you'd figure it out.

Happy correspondence!

Misery and the Company of the Dead

I had to take a break. A real break.

All weekend, I promised myself not to get into this wretched situation but of course, procrastination and a Christmas party got me into my current state of hell.

Crimeny.

Missed Grey's Anatomy tonight. I had to will myself to sit and actually read up on Marx (no, not Richard), Nietzche, Kierkegaard and Dewey. Yes, five philosphers in 4 hours.

If it was not for sheer will power and the fear of failing (yes, I have fallen subject to the Slave-Morality dilemma), I wouldn't subject myself to this. I wouldn't be to be so vinictive that I'd have my worst enemy go through such torture.

However, it's my fault and I need to rectify my aesthetic state of being.

Tomorrow, I shall tackle 4 decades of history in 3 hours. I'm taking bets. Who thinks I could do this? Come on, I need some motivation here. Anyone? Someone?

Bahumbug!

The winter season had finally kicked in here at the East Coast.

Big freaking deal, right?

Yes, it is a big deal. I am not a snow lover. It has its moments but I could have it fall overnight, have the sun shine the next day and melt it. No black (or block) ice, no wet shoes, no salt stains on my leather boots.

I hope the Ickle gals share some of my sentiment. DeAnn, I hope IL was left in a better shape other than that of one giant sheet of ice.

Here are the things I hate about the winter season. Feel free to add to it.

1. Plowing your driveway only to have the street snowplower erect a new wall of snow back in your shoveled driveway. I don't mean an inch. I mean off-roading, I can ski this hill kind of wall.

2. Driving behind people who have over 8 inches of snow on the hood and roof of their cars and making all the people driving behind them suffer. Yes, I know you don't care if you die, you maggot, but be considerate. The people behind you don't share the same death wish.

3. Drivers who drive in snow like it was a dry, sunny day. There is a reason why safe drivers put a car and a half space between other cars while driving over sheets of ice. It's not an invite for you to "slide" in. It's so that the other person doesn't get rear-ended, you moron.

4. SUV drivers that straddle parking spaces. Better yet, SUV owners that happen to park CLOSEST to the entrance of almost every establishment. Weren't you guys supposed to be the health conscious, I walk anywhere to stay energized healthy? Oh yeah, that hate I have for these vehicle owners is all year round. My bad.

5. Having to go to work while everyone else is playing in the snow. Or school. Hell, I don't like being out in the snow. Period.

Another Crush Gone

So, here I was, wallowing because I found out that Matt Damon got his girlfriend, Luciana Bozan, pregnant... Three months!

It can't happen. Not my Matt. He won't do such a bad thing.

Then I came home and found out that he MARRIED her tonight. TONIGHT.

I guess I I will just wallow.

I hope his marriage will last long. I hope she will be good to him.

Things I am protective of when my crushes are lost to the competition.

Start Praying for the WB!!!

Isn't it cool that Jackie was the first question Ausiello answered in this week's ecolumn? I was happy for her. Then, I get a little present via the early Santa! (BTW, that's the post office dude and again, thanks, J!) Well, to top it all, there is more news on the Gilmore front, and a 'wishing' possible series ending to OTH... Hint, don't watch!

Have I piqued your curiosity yet? Read on. Here's the news from the Kristin front:

Froggy Forecast: First, the good news. I connected with a few well-placed sources close to the WB this week, and they tell me the rumors that Gilmore Girls will end after this season might not be true. "Talks are still continuing with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino about staying with the show, and a new show they are front-running for next year will be part of the deal for both of them to stay," one source inside the network tells me. "As for Gilmore Girls itself, they are looking to end it after next year, but if it continues to do well, it could go beyond the next season. Both Lauren [Graham] and Alexis [Bledel] have expressed interest in returning, if things go well with Amy and Dan."

The silver lining? After I reported on Tuesday's E! News that an inside source told me One Tree Hill might be in the same boat, I've been contacted by anyone and everyone connected to the studio and the network, assuring me that is not the case. WB reps insist the network is 100-percent behind Tree Hill, and the show isn't going anywhere. Can I get an "amen," my Tree-huggin' brethren? (A/N: I don't think so!)

More good news: Sources tell me Supernatural and Smallville are definitely going at least another season, and might even share a night together next year. I'll waste away in Supernaturalville anytime, baby.

And to those that are watchers of Kitchen Confidential, the show's axed. Another good show bit the dust.

Thank goodness there's still Veronica Mars to calm me down.

Slow News Week

Hey everyone! With the "end' of Prison Break lasst week and the dawning of the Christmas season, spoilers have been few and far bewteen.

However, Ausiello has just come back from his vaycay so here's the latest of the spoilers!

Question: Rumor has it that since the Palladinos have the green light on a new show for next year, this might be the last season for Gilmore Girls. Is there any truth to this? Are we really not going to get a Season 7? — Jackie

Ausiello: Relax. There's little doubt Gilmore will be back in the fall. Not only is it, like, 13 viewers away from eclipsing Smallville as WB's most-watched show, but Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are already contracted for a seventh year. And guess who's also on board for next season? Scott frakkin' Patterson. That's right; reliable sources tell me his deal just closed. Now, the only question is whether Team Palladino — whose pact expires in May — will be at the helm of what is widely expected to be the show's farewell season. My gut tells me Amy and Dan will be back, albeit in a somewhat reduced capacity since they'll be juggling both GG and their new, as-yet-untitled, Big Apple-based romantic comedy.

Question: When is Wallace returning to Neptune? — John

Ausiello: I honestly don't know. But I'm pretty sure Leo's coming back tonight, so that should be fun. Or maybe not, considering someone is about to "vanish from Veronica's life forever." Please don't let it be Leo.

Question: As much as I love VM and Lost, I'm really curious if you've got any Supernatural scoop. — Rebecca

Ausiello: Some cool guest stars coming up. William B. Davis — aka X-Files' Cigarette Smoking Man — will play a possibly evil professor on Jan. 10. And the following week, Angel alum Julie Benz drops in as Layla, a woman with a brain tumor who seeks out a definitely evil reverend known for curing the incurable.

Question: Any chance we'll see Marty appear on Gilmore Girls this season? — Sarah

Ausiello: As of now, no. But for $10, you can get a quick Marty (aka Wayne Wilcox) fix in the movie version of Rent. He plays a member of an AIDS support group and, boy, can he carry a tune.

Question: Think of all the gasp! moments there have been these past couple of weeks: Luke has a daughter on Gilmore Girls; Meg is pregnant on Veronica Mars; Shannon dies on Lost; Lara Flynn Boyle flies away on Las Vegas; and the boys don't get out on Prison Break! Should we expect any more excitement before Christmas from any of our fave shows? — Brynna

Ausiello: Bright and Hannah are going to get naked together on Everwood tomorrow night; that's pretty major. And as if you needed another reminder, the Carver will be unmasked during the final moments of Nip/Tuck's third season finale on Dec. 20, which will be composed of two back-to-back episodes from 10 pm to midnight. And don't bother trying to guess who the Masked One is. TVGuide.com's Angel Cohn spoke to Bruno Campos on Monday and he flat-out said the Carver's identity is "not guessable. You’ll never guess, never in a million years." So, by my estimation, that narrows the suspect pool to either Dora the Explorer or ex-Apprentice munchkin Stacy Rotner. My money's on Rotner.

Question: No! Prison Break can't go on hiatus. Can you give us some spoilers? Is Abruzzi really dead? — Diane

Ausiello: My gut is telling me Abruzzi is definitely not dead. Although the original plan clearly called for the scruffy mob mole to get shipped off to the big house in the sky, judging by what I saw on screen and the open-ended way the character's fate was left, I'm willing to bet my entire set of 2005 Smurfs that producers granted Abruzzi a last-minute stay of execution with the intention of bringing him back before the season is finished. Adding fuel to my theory: PB executive producer Paul Scheuring declined to discuss the matter with me over the phone, and a show spokesperson issued a stern, "No comment." T-Bag, however, released this statement: "S---, I'm a dead man!"

----note: This I disagree with since Kristin already posted that Peter Stormare (Abruzzi) doesn't feel comfortable with the whole cast. How he can't is beyond me but that's the rumor. As a side note, despite knowing Stormare as the Russian Cosmanaut in "Armageddon", did you know that he is a Shakespearean trained stage performer? Who would've thunk?---

The End of An Era and How I Spent Thanksgiving, Part II

Who would've thought that I'd have a Part II?

I know I didn't but I thought it needed the sequel.

Where did I end? Oh yeah. I was able to get in touch with my brother, who happened to be partying with the rest of my cousins in the Pacific North West. It was LOUD. LOUD, I say. The conversation was fun and nice until my cousin, Chris, butted in. Then it became funny. He apparently read all the story challenges I did for Seasonal Passions and he got really disturbed. He read them all but was really disturbed.

Ha! Even Chicken Scratch didn't have the guts to take a peek.

I mean, I'm glad my cousin read it. I don't know if I should be concerned that he said he thought my writing was disturbing or the fact that he said he can't wait to read more.

... Didn't I say I come from a weird circle of people?

Had to work during Black Friday. So we skipped the lunatic malls and stores that day. Instead, the Nillster and I ventured out Saturday. Got a few goodies at the Fossil outlet store, which was nice. We were rather concerned at the amount of people at the outlets! Good grief. It was scary. Then, we decided to go to BOSE. Yeah, wrong move.

Nilly wanted one for Christmas after we originally decided we were going to visit and check out the Wave. Yeah, well, the rest is history.

... And yes, Jackie, Nilly thought at this point, Christmas is in November. We have a date with the new system on Saturday to watch Lord of the Rings. Yeah, there's another weekend gone.

But I guess I can't complain. I am getting my Christmas present this Friday, too.

Like what I told Jackie, some girls lust for jewelry. Some lust for spas and manicures and cute cars with bows on the top of the car.

I am getting my dream washer and dryer.

Yes, I take the glitz and glamour to what Christmas presents are supposed to be. However, if you've ever heard or seen my current washer and dryer, you'll know why I am so giddy to get my new present.

For those worried that I didn't get anything else for the family, I've done some shopping. Not much, but enough. The presents to the Ickle Gals is done, ready to be shipped. I just hope you all have fun with the little package!

Alright, now for the bad news courtesy of Kristin from E!Online:

From logan1060: I read in EW that the creators of Gilmore Girls got another show greenlighted and they may not stay for the next season of GG 'cause the new show films in New York. Is that true? 'Cause that would suck!

'Tis true. It's almost too much to bare to think of GG going, on top of Alias and Arrested, but it is starting to look like this might be the last season of Gilmore Girls. Amy Sherman-Palladino is not on board for next season, and I believe that perhaps some of the someones attached to the show might feel it's time to let it go.

---Remember I told you guys about this a couple of weeks ago. I am bummed especially since we wanted to get the BaF site up. Now, it just seems like it's going to be a little too late if we set the site up. I was wondering though if the WB would give the fans the opportunity to at least script a few shows, if ASP or GG are still in contracts for season 7. BtVS did well when the writers gave the greenlight for fans to write a few scripts for JW to consider. Come on, Lorelai, give us one more year!---

The rest are still from Kristin on E!Online in regards to VM:

From copssister: Tell us, O Wise One, about the alternate ending on Veronica Mars this week.

Gladly! You can see it on AOL.com, right after the episode airs. And on UPN.com the following day, you can see a live streaming interview show with Rob Thomas and me (I'm doing the asking, he's do the answering) at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT. He will talk about the episode, what's ahead and such, so please stop by! There will be a call-in element as well, so you can call in with questions during the show, and you can also send them in ahead of time here: tvdiva@eonline.com.

From crispykid: You have to tell us what was Meg's letter that Duncan read? His dreams were freaking me out!

You will find out in this week's episode--it's part of the big shocker! And it is so crazy, I'm still wondering if they'll go through with it. It also ultimately involves the big spoiler I told you about before this season even started airing.

From laurt56: Thanks for those awesome interviews on the set of VM! Teddy and Jason, your jobs do not suck! Will V. find out soon about Duncan's wandering?

I know. I hate me. And yes. Very soon.

From kkb92: I think you said that the fortune cookie Duncan left for Veronica was important. When are we going to find out what it said?

I know nothing about that, seriously, sorry!

Well, dry your eyes and give me some feedback.

How I Spent My Thanksgiving, Part I

I hope everyone is sedated in some way, shape or form of L-tryptophan, alcohol or cough syrup. I surely had some of one, a bit of 2 and none of 3 (yay!).

Thanksgiving in Podunk wasn't bad this year. There was snow on the ground until the sun shined through. That made Nilly happy. There was enough food to feed 30 people and 3 cats (There were only 11 people at our little shindig). There was enough alcohol to make a barkeep cry and traffic (for once) was bearable.

The horse and buggies for the most part stayed on their side of the road (with the exception of this one retard who aparently has a death wish on himself and his horse) and the senior citizens decided to drive the speed limit.

People, this isn't much of an expectation from me. It's all good.

I wish I could say that "something" great happened. Hmm, nada. Not one thing. At least I didn't have to contend with any real drama. I wasn't subjected to stick to a list of things considered taboo during dinner. Actually, a few of us started to play 'Scene It' the Deluxe Movie Edition. It was fun. It was as much fun as the Trivial Pursuit 90s edition!

I know, I know, we know how to party, huh? Yes, it sounds like we're actually from the Beaver Cleaver era but we're not. There's just so much you can do in a place that actually looks forward to Black Fridays!

I am glad that I actually have to work tomorrow. Maybe there would be interesting "stabbing" incidents in Wal-Mart over the new Kathy Ireland collection or the last extra-large string bikini in Victoria Secret. Tomorrow will be a day I look forward to working. (God, I know it will be boring.)

Did the mandatory parent call. Also dropped a line on the West Coast side of my family. I miss big celebrations. There is something to be said about some family gatherings... Like old comfy sweaters broken in-- tons of stories to tell as to why it's so tattered and yet loved dearly.

Anyway, that's how my Thanksgiving was spent. I am glad it's over. Now I have to deal with the Christmas season. Apparently, I am hosting it this year. I am actually excited about it.

On to other news...

I won't talk about Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Anyone who didn't see their imminent split is blind as a bat. Although, I have to say, I think JS should be blamed in the fallout. She should've kept daddy out of the bedroom. She should've realized the hubby's stated wandering. She should've learned to take care of a house and not house her bestfriend and have her tag along wherever and whenever she was out with Nick. Sweets, if your man is publicly 'showing' that he's out painting the town red while you're whoring with Jackass? There is a problem.

Don't even get me started with the whole Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes sonogram/I-won't-work-because-Tom-asked-me-to-be-barefoot-and-pregnant crap. It's just too creepy! I am not the burning bra kind of gal but you know what? KH has just set women's lib back 30 years. Thanks, Katie. Apparently, there is something in that Dawson's Creek water that really affected those brain cells of yours.

And if you're an Alias fan, this is the last Season.

Gilmore Girls: Looks like there might be some hope that Jess might have a recurring role in Rory's world. Bedford Diaries, sadly, has not been given the greenlight yet and to me, that's annoying. The show's a lot smarter than OTH and definitely more situational than what Felicity was. To all network executives at the WB, let the sucky shows die and give BD a chance! Milo Ventimiglia is also going to be in the new Rocky movie. Seems like there is some major stalking for me and Katty to do! Jackie and Ames, you know you guys are always welcome for the ride if you would like to enjoy Philly winter.

I've saved the best for last: Veronica Mars from Kristin on E!. Watch the interview clips. Loved the way Kristin had to help Jason Dohring censor himself about 'acting' with Charisma Carpenter while Jason's wife's lingering around the stage. I also thought it was cute when Teddy Dunn said thaty "Logan" gets all the girls but he's happy that Duncan still has Veronica. It was also rather endearing how Alyson Hannigan praised Charisma Carpenter on their catfight on an upcoming episode. I thought the whole interview was a barrel of giggles.

I know, I know, I am pathetic. I blame it on the turkey...

The Seven Year Itch

Thanksgiving. A day that we are supposed to be thankful for what we have and what we got.

I, for one, am not fond of the said holiday until I was told that I had the day off. Then, it became part of a tradition I looked forward to yearly. The fact that you get to eat is a bonus.

First and foremost, I want to say that this blog is entirely inspired by Amy, who posted pictures of her beloved former flames that have been part of a past she likes to visit every once in a while.

To that I raise my glass to you.

Here are the things I am grateful for when it comes to exes:

(1) Tim- Great guy. Will always be my first love. He taught me to be independent and adventurous. (Take your heads out of the gutter, you horny toads.) If it weren't for him, I would've not seen off-beaten paths in Missouri and Texas that are actually worth visiting.

(2) Mark- Although I would like to scorch this toad, he taught me 3 rather essential things. One, to appreciate country music (and Tex wasn't even able to get me in to it until I heard 'Don't Take the Girl'). Two, ice skate. Three, drive a stick shift.

(3) Joel- Okay, so he was a little possessive. And a liar. And really, unstable. But he taught me how to be a man around a car. Literally! With Dragon (my little 81 VW Golf GTI hooptie I drove around with through the German hills and valleys), I learned how to paint a car, balance and rotate tires, change oil, diagnose engine trouble and enjoy tinkering around cars. He, too, was a fun travelling buddy. We visited Paris and Versailles, visited Trier and Saarbruken and a thousand places in Germany I would've not gone to if he wasn't around to knock on my door and tell me to get my butt out of bed and spend the time out doors rather than slumming it in on a weekend.

To them, here's a toast. It was a fun ride, but I had to get off. Prince Charming had come my way.

If you didn't know by now, that's my Nilly.

Nilly and I had our first date on this holiday seven years ago. I've only known him for 3 months at this point but you know what? I've not looked back since then. I love him and he is the reason I wake up in the morning. He's the last thing I kiss at night and the first person I look forward to hearing before I become conscious (even though it's an 8 am call to just tell me that it's snowing!) and have reality hit me.

Yep, seven years. Seems like a long time, right? You know what? I am still glad that we still are in our honeymoon stage. Something tells me that we're going to be in it for the long haul.

Here's looking to 70 more.

To all, Happy Turkey Day and hope to hear from all of you on how good (or horrible) your holiday was.

K, if you're working Black Friday, Bless you and be careful.

Ames, have fun with the Apple Pie (Costco's topped with Dulce de Leche is fantabulous)!

Jackie, dear, tell grandpa to stay away from the sauce and have fun with the thousands of relatives. I miss big holiday celebrations where family is involved.

To Jo and Jem, Happy Thanksgiving. I'll give you guys a ring at the Posadases when I can get out of 'family' obligations.

Let It Be Rachel!

If you have never seen Evan Rachel Wood, catch the video "Wake Me Up When September Ends". Better yet, rent "Once and Again" (so you could also see how cute her older brother, Eli, was) and Thirteen. She's spectacular.

Here's the scoop on VM. Before throwing popcorn at me, the only GG spoiler out there is that David Sutcliffe (Chris) is getting a meatier role in GG. And YES, I am a Chris fan.

From richieice: Veronica Mars?

Mastermind (genius, friend) Rob Thomas tells me this week's episode is his favorite ever--now how's that for an endorsement? But adds that the network feels the same about next week's episode. So, we'll just have to see who has the better taste! As for this week's ep, Rob says, "The 'A story' is about a set of parents who come into the Mars investigation. Their son died on the bus crash and now somebody's leaving voice-mail messages from their son on their answering machine, and they're finding little toy busses hidden around their house. So, that's the 'A story.' And then Logan continues to get help from Veronica in finding out about this witness who has come forward and said he was the killer on the bridge. And we meet the Fightin' Fitzpatricks finally. And they're fun. Those scenes are fun. And also, Weevil decides it's time to continue pursuing Logan, for his involvement. So, there's a lot of good stuff in that episode."

From sunnyfish: On Veronica Mars, did Duncan sleep with Kendall or not?

I really don't think so. That's not his secret.
-note- I think he did. But then, I still am tickled pink at how Logan insinuated Duncan did in front of V!

From kkb92: Anything about who dies on Veronica Mars and how?

They aren't dying.

From tvjunkie1577: When can we expect some LoVe? Soon I hope!

Let's discuss after next week's episode. There are some developments!

From dubinz: Hey, Kristin, I love you. Can you please give more info on Veronica Mars?

Only because I love you back. According to Rob, Vinnie Van Lowe (the rival detective) is back, and they're hoping for someone like Evan Rachel Wood or Lindsay Lohan! I'll let him explain: "In [episode] nine, Trina Echolls mentions that they're moving forward with The Aaron Echolls Story TV movie, and she claims they're going after Evan Rachel Wood to play Veronica Mars! But what I'm hoping is that we can get some huge piece of stunt casting and have like Evan Rachel Wood or Lindsay Lohan come in and play Veronica.

Y'all Should've Bet Me!

I am elated that you guys thought that my FL trip was a riot. With my bro saying what I wrote was a lot like Jessica Zafra's, I am touched. She is one chick whose askewed view on life is refreshing.

Funny thing about the summary, I didn't even mention Xena, the Warrior Princess! Gosh, she was a laughing riot as it is. Xena, (as Nilly and I call her) was my cousin's Maid of Honor. She is this short chick, no more than 4'10", and wore 3" heels and they are the wrap around the ankle kind! I had to bite my cheek when Nilly asked me when she was going to completely don the dominatrix outfit.

Next, you would think that these girls actually were executives or whatnot. Nope, most of them are either bank tellers or non-management workers. But, you wouldn't know that if you just gave them a cursory glance. This was my first encounter of a group of early to mid-twenties that pretty much rivaled Carrie Bradshaw's closet! Each and every bridesmaid had a Coach, Fendi or Dooney and Burke and a Berkin. BERKIN! I make a decent salary and I can't even see myself buying a hobo from the brands I just mentioned! Let's forget the fact that I am not a purse person but, my God! These women spent more in a bag than what I would pay as mortgage in a month! I won't even go into the shoes. I won't be surprised if one of them had a pair of Blahniks or Choos on. With the height of the heel, I would say Xena and her entourage wore them. Again, how they could afford them is beyond me.

And Nic? Nilly takes the family in stride. He actually thinks it's a game whenever we get faced in situations like this. Luckily, my parents aren't the kind that would gossip (and we usually stay away from the tsimoso and tsismosas around here). There isn't anyone around for them to actually gossip with. He likes Filipino food. He's just amazed at the "grazing" ability Filipinos have on the dining room table. To restate the obvious, Nilly is a saint. He puts up with this crap because he loves me. ;)

Ally, yep, there seems to be no balance between the 'too skinny' comment and 'eat'. My distended belly is definitely not caused by being a malnourished citizen of Ethiopia. It's called 'overeating'. Maybe the mirrors our relatives look at when they try to feed us isn't one and the same...

Thank you again for the kind words. The one day of rest I've gotten today was actually refreshing. However, when I asked for any takers on me actually doing all the things on my list? Someone should've bet against me because I LOST.

Here's what I posted:

... My only day off is tomorrow and I am nowhere inside my humble abode to do any cooking or cleaning. I still have to get up by nine, be at class by 10, see my counselor at school at noon, get some stuff at Costco, go see the doctor about my knee by 3, grocery shop for Thanksgiving, give the 'rents a ring and see how their trip back from FL went, read my (school) books, prepare dinner, clean the house, do laundry... And all that before 9pm! Come on, I am taking bets. You think I will be able to accomplish half of this list tomorrow?

What have I done? Gone to class? Check.

Went to see the counselor? Check. I actually spent too much time with the counselor and three other transfer students who were in the meeting with me. God, things I would do to socialize outside of the workforce!

The Costco and grocery run? Big fat X. Costco's parking lot was so filled I thought the place was being robbed! Then the doctor's appointment ran long (so check on the doctor thing) so I just headed home rather than trek back out to outrun people in the grocery aisles.

Elaborating more on my doctor's visit, Mo (Rocca, that's what I call my FP doc. He looks like him) and I came to the same conclusion: some fluid in the knee, don't know what's causing it. Well, I know what started it, I just want it gone so I can start running again. See, the whole weight retention thing is hard to get rid of if the exercise part is not incorporated.

Why can't I be like the skinny beeyotches that can eat forever and not gain a pound? Why did you give me the big thighs, G-man?

Call the parents? Nope. Will do that when I actually have time, I guess.

Read my school books... Hmm, you think I'd actually do that if there was a new 'Real Simple' magazine out? C'mon, what do you think of me, thinking of you? Hell, no.

Prepared dinner? Double check. I made some slow cooked chili and Cheese and Chicken Ravioli in a bed or Marinara sauce and ground beef, sauteed in garlic. One thing I am good at is preparing a meal. Second best thing I do? Eat. 'Nuff said as to why this was even a no-brainer.

Laundry? Half done. Can't. Do. Laundry. Any. More. I have 3 baskets full of folded clothes and bedsheets. I need to put some away before I use the floor as storage place.

So, all in all, it was a productive day. Didn't get everything done but I am getting there. I might have to push back the final chappie to MNT not because it's not done (well, actually, it is to my standard only 3/4 done. The last stuff I wrote was crap) but because it's not to the standard... yet. Plus, I have an exam the day before Thanksgiving so I think that takes precedence right now.

Jackie, I won't let the man down. And just for you, here's what a banana heart (or blossom, whatever you feel like calling it) looks like:

Happy Friday, everyone!

The Tao of M

I wish I could say I reached the realm of Zen-like calmness and all, but I would be lying.

I am nowhere close to it, and if it hit me on the head right now, I might not be able to realize it.

Things I've done today:

1. Added Zach Braff's rarely updated blog on this site. Yes, I know Garden State was so last year (or two, depending on what time frame you cast the movie in), and yes, he's a little off. But I like him. He's one of the few people I think is real out there in land of plastic and cosmetics. Him and Topher Grace. They give off this vibe that it's cool to just chill at home rather than some overly-priced trendy club.

2. Went to Transfer Day. Whoohoo. Doesn't it sound so cool? I wish it was. For all those that have never attended a community college, TD is when you get to talk to a campus counselor of the institution you would like to continue on once you've realized that you can't be stuck in CC anymore. These counselors try to wean you off your binkie, the safety blanket of your $99 college credit course (I wish it were that cheap, however) and make you realize that you can spend your money in an institution that will rob you blind the moment you graduate from the four-year institution.

Yes, I am a big girl now. I am ready to get out of the playpen and actually join the grown-up kids and play in the sandbox. I approached the school of choice I wanted and placed my name on that "Please Contact Me" line. Sadly, my school of choice? Located next to the Army Recruiting table. How convenient, huh?

These are the days I am envious of all kids that have parents that have the money to send their kids to school. Hey, you think these parents will send me to school if I rat out their kid and tell them little Dick and Suzy aren't attending their classes?

3. Went to school. UGH. Yes, I trudged to my Philosophy class. For once, Old Man Winter finally talked about Immanuel Kant. Now if he could actually go into detail with what we're supposed to be tested in class for the week after Thanksgiving, I'll be set!

4. Went to work. Ick, that dreaded four-letter word. Honestly, I spend so much time in that place, I should have time share. Better yet, I need to have my own room. Preferrably in the Psych ward. With all the double-talk management gives us, if they think that we're buying it, then, we all either need to commit ourselves willingly or pull a Johnstown. Either option is really looking good compared to the sweatshop conditions I feel I am being told to accept graciously with a smile.

I guess I wouldn't be this negative if I was actually benefitting from this whole thing (other than feeling stalkerish about ZB). No, I just feel used and abused. Maybe I wouldn't be so off if I actually recovered from this past weekend.

Anywhoo, change of subject.

How did my trip to Florida go? Uhm, short of whirlwind. Sixteen hours of sleep in 3 days kind of whirlwind. I still haven't recovered. Geographically, I am glad I have fulfilled getting to FL in the next 5 years, which leaves the Carolinas, Georgia and the New England region for me to leapfrog on to next.

The wedding was great despite the greatest wedding Charlie-Fox (military term. ask me later if you want to know what it means) I've ever been in. There were 2 wedding coordinators at the church during the rehearsal, and neither knew what the other was doing. My cousin was frazzled, her fiancee was getting pissed, his "friends" were getting antsy and the relatives on both sides were getting needy.

One thing good that happened during the rehearsals? Dinner... It was a buffet that served all you can eat sushi, Mongolian barbecue, roasted duck, fish, etc. 55 people showed up! I hate to be the one footing the bill.

These are the times that I am glad I didn't marry a Filipino. The families are just too complex (or one-upping the Joneses) for my taste!

The wedding day itself was a comedy of errors. The guy in charge of getting the show on the road didn't know what we did the day before (during rehearsals) so he started barking orders at the candle sponsors, who walked down the aisle without the runners or music. Then, the same guy told me and Nilly to start going in. That was when the groom freaked out. He told Herr Direktor that he should stop ordering people around because he wasn't there for the rehearsal and he was ruining the wedding. BTW, this was all caught on video. I hope to God they didn't edit the drama out. It's priceless!

Things were going smoothly until the flower girl decided to throw a temper tantrum. So, ixnay on the Flower Girl-ay. Some guy tripped, the groom started bawling...

Fast forward to the Reception Hall. The DJ was gay. Not the "Oh, I am pretty gay" run of the mill kind. I am talking "Lady Chablis- Too Wong Foo- drag out- I am a girl and hear me roar" kind of person! It was sad that the older men at my table were asking me if I knew how "they" hid their peepees. Referring to my knowledge of 'gaffing' from "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" they thought the "tucking" was too much torture. Richard/Rica was fun, though. A little too eccentric, but fun. Groom cried a little more, yadda yadda yadda, then we had to go home to get some shuteye before catching a 7 am flight back to Podunk.

I wish it were that easy. No. It can't be. First and foremost, remember, I am a Flip. (Yes, I am allowed to use the term. I am a FOB. I know my roots and am not ashamed of the funny connotation the racial slur brings.) Surrounded by more Flips. Who always feel indebted to someone or something. In this instance, old family friends. We ended up having coffee at the one of the ninongs/ninangs of the wedding. If there is something I've learned from the whole outing, it is: (a) Wrestle the car keys from your relative. They don't always know where they're going... Or follow the speed limit. (b) Bring a headset preferrably with an adjustable volume. That way, when your parents/relatives talk about their sex lives and people their age, you don't have to find a spoon and do a lobotomy on yourself.

The trip was an experience. One I am thankful for in more ways than one. I was able to show Nilly a microcoscm of the world I was raised in. From banana plants (he was utterly fascinated by the banana heart), to the bitter melons dangling from vines, sweet potato crops, papaya growing and plucked fresh from the tree and picking calamansi off the tree and smelling and drinking its sweet juice were a few of the things he was able to witness.

Then the insanity known as extended family that ensued.

Nilly is truly a saint. He put up with 'baluktot' (crooked) English, 80% non-English conversations, food being forced down his throat every second his plate was empty, my relatives and giving up 'quiet time' he and I could've shared if it weren't for the constant demand of our company.

The wedding was fun. Seeing relatives was a trip. I am just glad I am back home.

McCrae, McCray or McRae: Dissecting GG and Other Spoilers

So we finally find out Colin's last name. It was just funny to hear that somehow, his family knows the Gilmores, too. Hmm, I surely remember from the first encounters Rory had with Colin, Logan and Finn, they couldn't be bothered with the likes of her. If they were looking out for their kind, they would've somehow gotten her into the folds like the sisters two did in Season 4 who tried giving Rory a nickname.

Second, I am ELATED that FINALLY the mother-daughter duo is back. We missed that. I wasn't doing the "awww" thing. I was doing the "it's about damned time" thing. Ugh. Drama. Sometimes, it's so over done.

Speaking of drama, loved the line when Lorelai told Emily, "You never lost me." I thought that was quite profound.

The whole Chris/Luke answering machine thing? Wow. Too macho for me. Question to ponder: if your significant other hears your ex on the phone, would he/she react as violently? Why? Why not? The whole Wisteria (or is it Listeria? I don't watch DH) line was so appropriate. Too much drama over something so irrelevant.

I know that I am secure enough in my relationship to know that if Nilly reacts badly to a former flame on the phone, I would set him straight. He is the guy in my life now, not the ex (hence the name). Plus, I think I would be totally freaked out. I know NONE of them have my mail. None of them have my email so any way they would get in touch with me will be totally in the stalker realm.

Lastly, the kid. She's cute. Real shocker, too. I just hope it's not just another add-on to make things annoying and quirky. There is already enough quirkiness.

Alright, now that the dissection is done, here are the spoilers!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GILMORE GIRLS
From Estell: What is the trouble ahead for Luke and Lorelai?
In last week's (fake) chat, I told you about that possible recurring role on Gilmore Girls (Anna, 35 to 40 years old, a potential threat to Lorelai). Well, turns out, "rival" Anna is a woman from Luke's past, and she and Luke share something very special that's gonna rock the boat, big time, before the end of this month.
Question: Can you tell me some new Gilmore Girls scoop? — Shira
Ausiello: THIS JUST IN: Sherilyn Fenn has been cast as the mother of Luke's long-lost turtle daughter! (Hooray! I can finally say the D-word!) She's onboard for at least two episodes, the first of which airs Jan. 10. Interesting tidbit: This isn't Fenn's first Gilmore gig. As you'll recall, she played the girlfriend of Jess' dad (Rob Estes) in a Season 3 episode that served as a back-door pilot for that ill-fated Jess-centric GG spin-off. I wonder if anyone in Stars Hollow will remember?
---Note: Isn't it creepy that Jess' dad's girlfriend is now Luke's former flame? And if he was shagging Anna whatsherface for the kid to emerge, where was Rachel?---
Question: I heard a rumor that Amy Sherman-Palladino is leaving Gilmore Girls at end of the season. Please tell us it's not true! — Melissa
Ausiello: AS-P hates talking about her deal with the network. All she would really confirm to me was that she's not contracted for a seventh season — and that much we already knew. I was, however, able to pry out of her the very first details regarding the new WB project she and Dan are developing. "It's going to be more of a modern-day love story with some strange twists put into it," she says of the hourlong series. "It's a couples' story, a romantic story. Let's just say it's going to be very snappy. Very fast-paced. We're finalizing it right now."
---NOTE: So, is it a revived GG? God, I hate same formulas, different characters. Haven't they learned their lesson from 'That 80s Show'?---
VERONICA MARS
From diggity: More VM scoop!
Lisa Rinna's got a busy month coming up. Not only will we see her back on Veronica Mars in January, but word is she's signed on to do Dancing with the Stars, too. I'm hearing that Jessica Simpson's brother-in-law, 98 Degrees' Drew Lachey, is dancing as well.
Question: Can you give me anything on Veronica Mars? — Alex
Ausiello: I hear one of the reasons we won't be seeing Mama Mars this season is because there was some difficulty negotiating a deal with her portrayer, Corinne Bohrer.
GREY'S ANATOMY
Question: Tell me something about Grey's Anatomy! — Megan
Ausiello: Well, as you probably figured out from last Sunday's opening credits, Addison (Kate Burton) is here to stay. Really here to stay. As in series regular here to stay. Personally, I think it's great. The more conflict the better. And let's face it, McDreamy and Meredith are going to get back together eventually. I mean, they're on the current cover of TV Guide for a reason, people. Meanwhile, look for a new female doc to join the staff, at least on a temporary basis. And before the year is out, flesh-eating bacteria will make its long-awaited debut at Seattle Grace.
Happy Wednesday!
The Long Scoop
I am torn. Really torn. I have read the boards and have major scoopage on all things VM and all things GG.
I guess I will start with VM. I know I promised the Ickles 3 that I would watch Jess' return tonight but I am too pooped to actually concentrate on it. However, I promise to watch it before I head out to school tomorrow. How's that for dedication?
Anyway, here's the scoopage via Kristin and Ausiello. They certainly rock!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

VERONICA MARS

Backup: you said there's a huge twist coming up on Veronica Mars. Arf! When? It won't hurt food girl will it? Arf! Arf!

Kristin: It will only hurt food girl (Veronica) emotionally and possibly romantically, but it could hurt someone else FATALLY, depending on which ending they choose... They shot two. Either way, expect to change your shorts.

Percy: Crap! When is that twist?

Kristin: End of November. And it's not you.

Question: Is the big murder mystery this season the bus crash or the murder Logan was accused of? Or both? — Shaba

Rob Thomas: We think of the bus mystery as the big mystery and "Who killed Felix?" as the secondary mystery. Veronica is much more involved in the bus-crash investigation. We wanted a secondary mystery that would play largely on other series regulars — primarily Weevil and Logan.

Question: Will we find out what happened to Veronica's mother after she took the money and left? — Gabriel
Thomas: It's doubtful we'll see Veronica's mother. We might hear about her.

Question: I love Sheriff Lamb. Will we be seeing more of him in future episodes? — Meg
Thomas: Yes. We're even surprised here in the writers' room how much we're using the good sheriff.

Question: Last season, we were shown many flashbacks chronicling Veronica and Duncan's past relationship. Can we look forward to flashbacks highlighting Veronica and Logan's summer together? — Sherry
Thomas: None are in the works, though we never say never. I wouldn't hesitate to use one. Actually, I'm kind of liking that idea. Stay tuned.

Question: Is there any chance of Tina Majorino [aka computer whiz Mac] becoming a series regular in the future? — Pamela
Thomas: I love Tina. I think there's a great chance.

Question: Are some of the loose ends from last season ever going to be worked into this season? Specifically, are we ever going to see what was in that note that Weevil stole from Lily's room? — Penelope
Thomas: I'll answer the question about the note Lilly left Weevil. We had every intention of revealing it last year, but we just ran short of time. It was an obsessive love letter that hinted at potential violence — think of what happens to the unfortunate girl in the trunk in Eminem's "Stan." Weevil knew Veronica was getting close — she told him as much — and Weevil feared that if anyone found that note, he'd be back in hot water.

Question: With Kyle Secor currently playing the First Gentleman on Commander in Chief, will we see Jake Kane at all this season? — Liz
Thomas: We'd love to use Jake, but it's looking unlikely we'll be able to work it out. We are, however, using Kyle Secor's real-life wife, Kari Coleman, in at least two episodes; she'll play a bitterly divorced health teacher.

Question: I seriously love Veronica Mars, but how much longer are we going to be subjected to the (completely devoid of chemistry) Duncan-Veronica relationship? I miss Veronica and Logan! — Daniella

Ausiello: (SPOILER) Before tonight's episode is over, you'll find Veronica back in Logan's arms. But, as with most everything on Mars, there's a twist. And a pretty funny one at that. Also, Joss Whedon proves himself to be quite the nimble thespian. He more than held his own opposite Kristen Bell, and that's no small achievement.

BONUS POINTS: You can
  • podcast Jason Dohring
  • on his role as Logan! Really nifty keen.

    GILMORE GIRLS

    I don't know whether I should get upset or just be wary about this. If these were the words out of ASP's lips, I shall hang my head in shame for wanting to be her girl Friday. I mean, I still wish I could see her at work but man, with inconsistent plot and characters that have lost direction, I just want to say, "Do you think your viewers are that gullible?" Anyway, read on and tell me what you think.

    Question: I love Gilmore Girls and am so happy Luke and Lorelai are finally together. But it drives me crazy that they still haven't said "I love you." — Jennifer

    Ausiello: You Gilmorians have waited a long time for an answer to this question, so here's AS-P's response, raw and uncut.

    MA: Why haven't Luke and Lorelai said "I love you" to each other?

AS-P: To me, they say "I love you" to each other every single day. Everything that they do, the way they care for each other, the way they take care of each other.… "I love you," for me, is a tricky phrase on television because I think it's way overused, as it is in life. I think they constantly button scenes with, "I love you." "I love you, too." "I love you, Mom." "I love you, Butchy." "I love you, Johnny." "I love you, Fluffy." There's just nothing but I love yous and so little goes behind it. And part of what I love about Luke and Lorelai is they don't do that. They just love each other. They just take care of each other. They just support each other. They do everything that you're supposed to do and they don't have to say "I love you" 100,000 times. And when the words finally come out and when we feel like we actually need to write them down, it's probably going to come at a very odd time.

    MA: Do you understand why fans want that moment?

AS-P: You know, the fans really need to just relax. (Laughs) I don't know. I guess maybe. I've always enjoyed certain things, like Buffy. My all-time… my life couldn't exist without it. But the way Angel and Buffy said "I love you" to each other, it was always sort of hidden and buried in the context of something else. It was never about, 'Oh, tonight's the moment when Angel says "I love you!"' You just knew that he loved her and you just knew that she loved him, and to me that was so much more satisfying as a viewer. It's just a thing for me. I enjoy actions speaking louder than words.

    Question: Any details on Luke's long-lost… — Cary

    Ausiello: I've been saving this one for the end because, well, it's sweeps. Here's my exchange with AS-P on the subject of, well….

    MA: Luke's long lost…

AS-P: It's a turtle. Name is Stony. Stony the turtle.

    MA: Did you always plan on playing the, um, turtle card?

AS-P: (Pause) Everything we do is predetermined. We don't do anything spur-of-the-moment. At the end of every year, we take a lot of time to think about where we're pushing ourselves in the following year, 'cause there's nothing scarier than going blind into a year. So, at the end of last year, we really wanted to see a turtle. It was very important for our turtle audience to be represented.

    MA: The turtle news has gotten out and some fans are throwing out the words "jump" and "shark." What would you tell them?

AS-P: I would say it's not jumping the shark, it's jumping the turtle.

    MA: Care to elaborate?

AS-P: No. People just need to watch the show and trust us. We've taken them this far. Have a little faith.
    Listen to her, people. I just finished watching Episode 9 and I've got three words for you: Best. Episode. Ever. (SPOILER) Not only do our girls reunite, but the hour also includes a fantastic Comeback riff, a timely jab at Desperate Housewives and — brace yourselves — a full-on make-out scene between Luke and Lorelai. And not just a few pecks on the cheek. We're talking kisses. Multiple kisses — on the lips. There's also warmth. And passion. And even a little heat. And regarding the long-lost turtle, I defy you to find fault with this story once you watch it play out. Not only is the turtle the greatest acting find of the year, but the way she — I mean, it — is introduced is nothing short of genius. I'd tell you more but I have to rush home to watch it again.

    So, what do you think, chickees? Oh, and if you pick up my hair, just donate it to Locks of Love. I think they'll take bloody clumps.

    Lorelai Gilmore: What do you see in my future?

Kristin: A worthy adversary. Just heard about an audition for a possible recurring role on Gilmore Girls (a friend auditioned): Anna, 35 to 40 years old, beautiful in a natural way. She owns a funky boutique. Has to be great with comedy and have a strong enough presence to be a potential threat to Lorelai!

    Question: I anxiously await your AS-P-sponsored scoop on Gilmore Girls. Please tell me the spring wedding is Luke and Lorelai's. — Mary

    Ausiello: Despite my efforts to wrestle the bride's and groom's names out of her, all Amy Sherman-Palladino would confirm is that "there will be a wedding" and it will take place in "April or May." Personally, I'm betting it'll be another Stars Hollow duo, especially given this little tease AS-P dropped on my lap: "Luke and Lorelai have been sort of in a holding pattern about the wedding," she says. "Rory coming home [next week] is going to make Lorelai want to move full-steam ahead, but circumstances are going to make Luke start to be concerned about the speed of that. They're heading toward an interesting upheaval."

    Question: I need more info on what Christopher is going to do when he appears on Gilmore Girls next week! On a side note, I would love one of those Ask Ausiello T-shirts. — Justin

    Ausiello: I'll have some big news on the AA T-shirt very soon — sit tight, Justin. Now, about Christopher's return, AS-P insists he's not coming back to destroy Luke and Lorelai. "Bringing him back [now] is going to fold more into Lorelai-Rory and the Gilmore side of the story than necessarily Lorelai-Luke." Still, she says he's "always going to be a thorn in Luke's side, which is only good for me. Because when everything is happy and delightful and ducky, things get a little dull."

    Question: Rumor has it David Sutcliffe has been asked to join the cast of Gilmore Girls as a regular in Season 7. Say it ain't so. — Brandy

    Ausiello: I'll let AS-P say it instead. "No, we are not talking about having Christopher back in Season 7."

    Question: What's going to happen with Rory and Logan in the wake of Jess' appearance on Gilmore Girls? Are they going to break up? — Ali

    Ausiello: "Logan and Rory are going to hit a rough patch," AS-P concedes. "Logan and Rory's relationship has never been based on deep talkin'. Their relationship has been based on 'Let's have fun! Let's avoid reality! Let's just go play and party!' And Rory doesn't want to avoid reality anymore. And that's going to alter her relationship with Logan." That said, AS-P says, "We have [Matt Czuchry] for the entire year, so kids need to remember that. He's getting paid for the whole year. You don't want to waste that when you're paying for it. But there are going to be a lot of ups and downs for Rory and Logan."

    Alrighty. Spoilers on Everwood and Grey's Anatomy will be posted later. This blog had gone too long...

    Ashton Kutcher, part Deux

    I am back and I promise not to get all mushy until later... Much later. Like next week or something.

    To all the gals who sent good wishes my way after my mental breakdown, I LOVE YOU. I really did need that little push there. Jackie, (*hugs*) you are the best. A girlfriend like you is priceless. Camilla, you are a darling. I wish we were around to keep you company. You have to provide all things chocolate though. ;)

    Moving on...

    I just want to embrace the fact that it is FRIDAY! WOOT! I cannot believe I am so happy about it. This is the only weekend the hubster and I get to tinker in the house. BIL needs help moving and we promised him 2 hours of our precious time. The garden needs last minute tending to before everything settles in for winter. The playset needs some staining. I still have to lay the weed blanket down so the annoying plants won't grow back next spring. I know, I know, y'all don't care but I told you all, I have NO time to myself (or the house). Next week, we're off to Florida for a wedding. The weekend after that, I will be working. Surprise, Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

    ATTENTION: This section is reserved for station ranting...

    Is anyone upset that Christmas decorations are already in full swing in the malls? I am truly appalled. There should be a law that Christmas decor should not be put up AFTER Thanksgiving. Sheesh, it's not like we'll spend any more or less on Christmas presents if they started decorating in June.

    BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED GABBERY

    First and foremost, bad news. Amy finally handed me MNT 14. I fixed all the deets Ames nicely highlighted for me (hugs, my dear friend) and got it ready for posting... Only to find out that FF.net is DOWN... AGAIN.

    Ugh! How can I get my readers to read my story? I remember when I had written "Meatmarket" and FF was down for like 3 days and I emailed everyone who had personally corresponded with me if they wanted a preview of the Meatmarket chappie. They did and got back about 17 reviews, not including the reviews posted on FF when I finally got the chappie out. I want my story out. It's almost done. Can't wait for closure.

    Second, I've decided to write my own challenge. Elaida was supposed to write my challenge but I guess with Seasonal Passions shutting down, she decided not to continue with it. I don't have the guts to ask her to write it so I decided to just do a self-challenge. I might preview it on Build-A-Fic when we finally get the site up. Ladies, when do you think would be a good time to sit and chat about BIF?

    On a lighter note, Lindsay gave me first dibs on her Seasonal Passions challenge. Not to steal her thunder or anything but IT IS GOOD. Snarky good. Tension-filled good. I am giddy in anticipation since the build up is so yummy. So, Lindsay, here's how much I love you. I promise to read your drafts before I read my school stuff... Ames, I promise I will read PP... eventually. So don't start sulking! (Love ya, babe.)

    Third, Jackie wants to start the book club. Yay!!! Amy's on board, I'm on board... K? Who wants first dibs? And yes, "Can You Keep A Secret" by SK is deliciously sinful. Love that book. I still have to catch "The Undomestic Goddess". I hope it's as good, if not better. I can't seem to really follow the Shopaholic series since, surprise, I am not one who does a ton of retail therapy. As for "Million Pieces" I might have to read that later.... so much later that PP should be read first, along with the other prequels before I read it later.

    Lastly, Kristen Bell recalls being Punk'd by Ashton. She is so funny! Now if I could just catch this ep. I bet it would be hilarious.

    And if you can't wait to see next week's VM, here's the first few minutes of the show.

    Speaking of which, here are some yummy scenes to expect from VM. Thanks, Spoilerfix!

    My Relation to Ashton Kutcher

    Apparently, I have more than one thing in common with this man. I took another test not too long ago as to who my "Celebrity Daddy" was. Turns out to be the Punk'd man himself. I thought this was a coinkidink until I lifted this test from Lindsay's site.

    And oh, I could see the Conan jokes already rolling...

    Your humor has an intellectual, even conceptual slant to it. You're not pretentious, but you're not into what some would call 'low humor' either. You'll laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist.

    You probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. In a lot of ways, yours is the most entertaining type of humor because it's smart without being mean-spirited.

    "English As A Second Language"

    Megan Crane was in the right frame of mind when she wrote this book. It was hilarious!

    Alex Brennan was a character I was able to relate to. Bright but not wise, she was a clueless college grad who didn't know what to do with her English degree other than push papers at a lawfirm. On a dare set by her ex-boyfriend, she found herself getting her Masters in Fairfax Court, England where she befriends Toby, Cristina and Jason who eventually become the people she'd depend upon as the year progresses on.

    Although the story felt like 'Reality Bites' (excessive smoking and drinking), there was a sense of belonging a reader can pick up once you've met the characters. Alex, in herself, is trippy. She is unaware of her propensity to ward off people in her life; which was bitterly pointed out to her after a confrontation with fellow American, Suzanne, and a talk with her dad.

    There were a lot of snippets that I nodded an "amen" to her own brash outlook in life and the moments of friendship she weaved with her international set of friends. I know that I felt a longing to just call my friends around the world just to tell them I love them.

    Take it for what it's worth: a chick lit. There's a ton of foul ups (and not hijinx, thank god!) and teeth gnashing moments reminiscent of college days, deadlines and club outings. There's nothing profound about it except for the little bits of insight one gains after constant failure or acceptance of failure to get closure.

    If at any point in your life, you've woken up in a clutch situation of not knowing what you want, where you're headed or if you would ever belong, read this book.

    I know it made me giggle a lot since I, in more ways than one, was once Brennan.

    I Had To Break Down

    November is upon us and I feel like my blog had turned into a mini-Entertainment Weekly blog for all people obsessed with Prison Break, Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls.

    For that, I partially apologize. I am, after all, obsessed with said shows and I could not contain my excitement for things I cannot watch when I am at work.

    But I digress.

    Some people say the blog is there to purge out thoughts that I, the writer, would like you to stop and think about the moment you reach the bottom of the page.

    Well, I guess I haven't done that recently and I blame myself for that oversight.

    Jackie had already beaten me to the punch when tackling this issue but I would like to supplement her throughts in regards to time and its constraints.

    Although I am not a Woody Allen fan, his thoughts on the matter reflect what I do feel: "Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once."

    Ever since school started this semester, I do feel like I am in a constant collision course with myself. I think I am going to implode. I hate it. I hate the fact that I feel guilty for throwing myself into work and school with as much gusto as if I were young and single again.

    I hate the fact that no one seems to understand this plight other than Nilly, who's also tacking a full-time job and school to boot.

    In the past 3 months, I've missed talking to Chicken Scratch, dodged many a conversation with my mom and skipped out on talks with dad.

    It's not that I hate them. Far from it. But I feel like everyone wants my time and for once, I want to claim serenity for myself! I don't want to talk about gossips regarding my relatives. I really could care less if my mom lapses into her state of hypochondria. I could not give a second thought on my dad giving me his "pity me" routine. Thank God Chicken Scratch understands this in a way. But he's the good child for now. He talks to mom weekly.

    I, on the other hand, am the devil incarnate; the ingrate of a daughter. The one that has abandoned all things with familiarity.

    And apparently, my eggs.

    Here's a snippet of a conversation with my folks (translation: mom):

    Ma: How's school?
    Me: Fine.
    Ma: How's Michael?
    Me: Fine.
    Ma; Do you still go to church?
    Me: When I get up early enough.
    Ma: Oh, so when are you having kids? You know, so and so is pregnant again...

    And then I tune her out.

    The concept of having kids is one that I've tackled with my parents for quite a while now. Apparently, Nilly and I aren't Newlyweds anymore and aren't getting younger by the moment. No duh. This is one conversation that still leave me in tears when I am often told, "You're not trying hard enough."

    How would they know? Just because fifteen-year old Suzy can pop a kid means that it would be that easy for me to do so. But it isn't.

    I've spoken to the doctors about it. I've spoken to Nilly about it. I still read stuff in regards to pregnancy and still, no such luck. I am not just talking about the simple "Put Tab A in Slot B" situation. There's more to it than meets the eye. Anyone who had gone through fertility treatments know about it. And thus, we become a lot of haters for all those that could pop a kid without batting an eyelash.

    And sometimes, I just want to lash out and say, "Well, I definitely won't have the Immaculate Conception even if I attended each and every Church Service."

    Effers.

    So what happens when I get pissy? I clean. Yes, unless you want to be swept on to the dustpan and out the door, stay away.

    I also wallow.

    Which then turns out to be a bad way of spending time wisely.

    In three months, I've almost come to the conclusion in writing MNT (the second to the last chappie is in the hands of Amy), which I planned on finishing in August but had no time to do so since I had to do much overtime at work, finished a book review, taken 4 exams, had numerous dissertations with my professors and superiors, read at least 2 centuries of US History, dissected at least six philosophers' thoughts on life with students ten years my junior and have never left Podunk. I've worked overtime, went to a bridal shower, a wedding and a baby shower. I've slept an average of five hours a day, sometimes including the weekend. I watch my pretaped shows while doing laundry, ironing, vacuuming, or changing bed sheets.

    Once in the three months have I completed a book that was not class related. I felt guilty. Guilty because I could've used the time to read another chapter on FDR and his alphabet cabinet or read what Kant has to say about life. I could've returned correspondence with people who wrote me a month ago or actually enjoy the sunlight and run on the streets rather than the treadmill at the gym. (By the way, my knee still hurts and I think the right one's going, too!)

    As soon as this is posted, I will head on out once again to run errands and head on to class. Then work. The cycle repeats itself until Friday with the 'change' on Tuesdays and Thursdays where I still tune the world out with "Freak on A Leash" on my iPod.

    I have no life. I feel guilty when I get one.

    Anyone want a drink?

    To Tide You Over

    I was going to write this long poetic blog about death and life and the blah blahs attached to it (can you tell I've watched Six Feet Under again?) but it's a Monday. No one should have a downer Monday.

    But then, Miss Kristin's chat postings had been postponed until tomorrow noon. So instead, I leave you with one of my favorite photos:

    Fine. I know I am cheating but I had to. I am the only person I think in this universe that thinks Troy should be given another chance. At least another chance to get his punk-ass beaten up by Logan or Weevil.

    Until K's chat is up with all her gossip goodness, I leave you with Veronica Mars goodies. All the taste, none of the calories. Check out Jason's interview and the heavy wedding band on his finger. Wow. No one can definitely miss that band.

    Is It Rerun Time Again?

    Before I tackle today's subject matter, I just wanted to say, "Thank God for the weekend!"

    Friday was my first day off in 8 days. EIGHT! I really didn't want to get up for my mani/pedi with Jaime, but I did. I enjoyed the few hours hanging out with Jaime before she surrendered her single card for the exclusive married club.

    Wow.

    As of yesterday, she's gotten herself hitched. It was a nice celebration. I hope to see them next week when they get back from Italy. Just quick enough to see them before Nilly and I have to fly off to Jacksonville.

    Hmm, no more unhitched friends. I guess this time, all we have to worry about is getting pregnant. What pressure, right?

    On another note, Diablo Blanco had finally emailed me. He finally found time to drop me a line and tell me that he's all fine and dandy behind the enemy lines. Hope his Iraqi trip would be hohum. I want him back safe in the arms of Clarissa and Alexis. Even if he's trading German sites for the Utah plains. At this point, he doesn't know what's worse. I told him as long as he's alive, he shouldn't be upset as to where he's headed.

    Anywhoo...

    I can't believe GG is on rerun already. WHY don't they just give us Jess' return? I want Jess back. Heck, I want Jess to actually clobber Logan! Okay, for all Logan lovers (*cough* Amy *cough*), Logan is 'looking' like a concerned boyfriend. Despite the awkward talk between Logan and Richard, I don't still buy the Logan act.

    Speaking of Richard, how about last week's episode? I am a daddy's girl. Yes, I do admit it. I argue with my dad with as much passion as I love my old man but I can honestly tell you, Richard is doing a good job being a grandfather that is admitting he was wrong for undermining Lorelai's decision to get Rory back on the Yale track.

    Part of me was upset at Lorelai for being as obstinate as her daughter. ASP is making the whole episode look more like a test of stubbornness more than anything else. I love this show, but my goodness! Let's get a character to eat some humble pie and get back to some real squabbling. When Zach and Lane are actually getting a plot faster than a Rory and Lorelai reconciling, I have to say I am not really feeling the love to collecting this season's DVD boxed set.

    On to better things, VM spoilers are leading me to believe that Daddy Keith isn't going to be the new sheriff of Neptune. The Echolls trial (and Logan's arrest) takes me back to Season one. I am still trying to convince Nilly to allow me to open my VM set and just keep my Season 4 GG (and the season 5 GG coming out in December) as my Christmas presents. I just want to watch the whole VM season uninterrupted.

    Anyway, here's this week's news. Enjoy!

    --------------------------------------------

    Episode 6.10: He's Slippin' 'Em Bread... Dig?
    Airdate: November 22, 2005

    Zach is quite moody and even almost misses sound check. He says he doesn't like the usual set up of the band, he bought himself a wireless mic, he even introduces a new band member and throws the set list of songs to be played! Let's say the other band members are confused and don't know how to react. Will the band be able to perform with such a different mood and setting? Liz and people from her Renaissance Fair are at the Inn. Sookie also appears. Source: SpoilerFix.com

    Episode 2.06: Rat Saw God
    Airdate: November 9, 2005

    The results of the sheriff's election are announced, but Veronica doesn't have much time to process the results after Abel Koontz (Christian Clemenson) asks her to locate his daughter, who disappeared after the $3 million payoff from Jake Kane. Meanwhile, Logan is arrested for Felix's murder -- and briefly shares a cell with his dad. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" creator Joss Whedon has a cameo as a car-rental agency assistant manager. With Aaron Echolls (guest star Harry Hamlin) facing trial for Lilly's murder, the previously accused Abel Koontz appears to enlist Veronica's help in finding his missing daughter Amelia, leading to a confrontation with Kane Software's head of security. Meanwhile, Logan is arrested for the murder of biker Felix Tombs when a witness comes forward and meets with a surprise visitor while in jail. Later, Keith anxiously awaits the results of the race for Sheriff on election night. Source: UPN

    Episode 2.10: One Angry Veronica
    Airdate: December 2005

    There is no time off for Veronica even if it's the Christmas break. She has to do jury duty. The case is about two 21-year-old men who were charged with aggravated assault for beating up a girl. Veronica will start exploring her university options. Sheriff Lamb reluctantly helps Keith on an investigation. It seems Mr. Mars is investigating the sheriff's department. He interrogates all deputies (including Leo and Sacks) but also Logan. Source: SpoilerFix.com
