Taking A Breather and Other Random Facts

Hello! I am back. I do apologize for my absence. Things have been wonky in the Forest and it's only now that I've had taken a little down time... Like having 9 hours of sleep. It's a first in ages, folks, and I plan on doing it again on Sunday.

Today's my 7th straight day of working. Yes, I am cranky. I am irritable. But then, I knew it was eventually going to happen. Jaime and I are off to get our toes and nails painted Friday. I still don't know whether I should bring clothes to the rehearsal dinner or just go home and waste another quarter of a tank of gas and wait for the hubby to join us later on for the night's festivities. My only hopeful prayer? That the rain would hold up Saturday and Sunday... Just long enough that the wedding party doesn't have to stuggle through the rain. Thank goodness I just have to read scripture. I don't have to deal with flurry dresses and all.

Hmm, I don't know if this is worth anything but I am broken. Yep, broken. As K and Ames stew in their collective cold/flu problems, I tweaked my knee enough that I actually hobble. Whoever said that exercise (especially lunges) is good for you lied. It hurts like the dickens. Hopefully it would heal itself. It's been a week but I am hopeful. Tomorrow, I won't be able to do ny 2-miler but I hope the bike or the elliptical machine would ease some of the discomfort.

Met my new Philo Professor Monday. He's an old chap who likes repeating himself... Constantly. He's funny. Imagine Robin Williams with a less of a potty mouth. Anyway, he already told us that in his entire 39 years of collegiate teaching, he had only doled out A's to 4% of his student population. And that's a real uni, not a CC! We're not having midterms. The finals summarze our worldy Philosophical existence. So there goes my membership to Phi Delta Kappa since my card would be revoked. Such is life... Now if we could just get done with Hume. (Sidenote: Are any of you Monty Python Fans? Have you ever heard the Philosophers' Song? Yeah, Nilly's got that song stuck in my head now and it's all I hear while Dr Winters talks. Not a good idea).

Tok my History midterms yesterday. I did okay. Not as well as I was hoping to do. Tons of writing! Well, it's the last leg of the 20th-21st C. Maybe I'd be awake long enough to remember the Lewinsky scandal.

Took the English test 3 times at the OK!Cupid site. 3 TIMES! And despite taking the test thrice, I was given 3 different scores even though I gave the same answer every time. So here's what I got:

English Genius

You scored 100% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 100% Expert!
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

VM Spoiler from Spoilerfix:

Episode 2.09: My Mother, The Fiend
Airdate: November 30, 2005

Kendall (Charisma) is going to share screen time with Trina (Alyson), along with Duncan and Logan as she tries to sell a Maserati for quick cash. And apparently, Charisma and Alyson will get a bit snippy with each other. Source: Kristin on E!Online

Ausiello on GG:
Question: Tell me it's not true! Luke can't have a (CENSORED) on Gilmore Girls. What next? Taylor and Michel are having an affair? The phrase "jump the shark" is coming to mind. — Megawatt

Ausiello: Let's not play the shark card — or the Taylor-Michel shagging card, for that matter — until we actually see how the story plays out on-screen, OK? And, for the record, I don't know for a fact that this mystery person — who turns up on Nov. 15, not Nov. 22 as first thought — is actually Luke's long-lost (CENSORED). But this much I can tell you: I hear the pivotal episode — written and directed by ASP herself — is one of the best of the year, if not ever. So, let's all take a deep breath and reserve judgment for the morning of Nov. 16, mmmmkay?

Question: There are seven of us at my office who love Gilmore Girls, and we would like your honest opinion on a few questions. 1) Do you think that Luke and Lorelai will end up together? 2) Do you think that the show will be renewed for a seventh season? 3) We've been very disappointed with the new season so far and want to know how the ratings compare to this time last year. Thanks! — Joanna, Carol, Terri, Liz, Donna, Kim and Meghan

Ausiello: OK, let me take these one at a time. 1) Yes. 2) Yes. 3) The ratings are actually up over this time last year. And sit tight, girls. The Gilmore you know and love is about to make a major comeback. I can feel it. Speaking of which, how fantastic was last night's AS-P-penned outing? Pretty freakin' fantastic. And I'm fairly certain Kelly Bishop is doing the best work of her career this season. God, that woman is gifted.

EVERWOOD DISH:
Question: I need some damn good Everwood spoilers! — Kara

Ausiello: This should satisfy you: Ephram and Amy will do the deed (read: the dirty deed) before the show goes on its winter hiatus in December. (Sorry, Reid.)

Question: Thank you so much for finally realizing how great Everwood is! Have you heard if they are going to bring in another love interest for Andy? — Rhonda

Ausiello: (SPOILER ALERT) They're not, and here's why: Nina is going to learn something about Jake in Episode 9 that'll send her straight into Andy's arms. (A big thanks to TV Guide's Ali Gazan for passing that scoop on to me under the condition that I give her full credit and bold her name. I don't care what anyone says, that girl oozes class.)

I swear I got Excellent 2 times. When I took it a third time, I had your score, Kat. When I printed the stuff and put it on my link, it said GENIUS. This test can't be trusted... at all.

I should know, I can't write or edit well!

Grrr.....

lol

so, it just takes time to be a genius? hehehe

most of us only tried the thing once--and all doped up from meds! ;)

you're broken? i'm so sorry! make nilly pamper you. that's what boys are there for, right?

at least your straight-hellish-working streak is nearly over, right? that can't be fun at all. and i don't care what ausiello says. if luke's BLEEP (rolls eyes) comes into play, i'm gonna write asp a really angry letter. i don't care if she keeps making me loopy happy by showing me nekkid logan and bringing jess back. enough is enough. though rory's reaction to lorelai getting a dog last night? priceless.i can almost believe she can bring it back to good again, after last night. but with luke's thing? not so sure. . .

anyone else?

gotta go to work. i'm tired at the thought. let's just say, it looks like we had a book tornado in the back room yesterday, and we're straining under the aftermath.

Awww! I sorry! I hate being broken. I'm with J, make Nilly take care of you.

Geez, you certainly have put a whole mishmash of stuff in this post! I was really surprised about that test. All 100s, nice. I think I might go back and take it again, see what happens. From what you said, it seems to be an interesting range of results.

That commercial was INSANE! I sent it to a bunch of my friends, and they are sending it to a whole bunch of ppl too. I was watching it, and got all freaked. So perfect for Halloween! I can't wait to show it to my aunt on All Hallows Eve. She won't watch it til we go over there. But she's going to love it! She's a big ghosty stuff lover, and I know she'll go nuts over this one.
