Swing and a miss. When will the Emmys listen?
Entertainment Weekly had an article a couple of weeks ago entitled "For Your Consideration". The three actors being lauded were Lauren Graham, Zach Braff and Kristen Bell.
Zach Braff was the only one nominated and at that, he has a snowball's chance of winning with Ray Romano nominated on his swan season. Remember Friends? When they left, they won all awards possible. Those that they didn't win went to the other show, Frasier, who was also in their swan season.
I would've not been upset if the actresses nominated in the Actress on a Lead Role were deserving. Come on. 80% of the Desperate Housewives don't deserve it. Quelle Horreur that Eva Longoria (slut) and Nicolette Sheridan (wrinkles) were not nominated! You know what? They don't deserve it.
Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore has been one of the greatest characters ever to grace the small screen TV. For five years she has remained in character, human, smart and not slutty! How's that for a DH comparison?
As for Kristen Bell, she is another actress that should've not been overlooked. She has style and grace that cannot be manufactured. For her sake, I hope the new VM season would make her a strong contender.
With that being said, I should stop watching these shows since they're apparently rigged.
I mean, cable has their own award show. So why is HBO and Showtime competing in the Emmys? Isn't that double dipping?
Maybe I should just be glad that SATC is done.

Totally. Why did the emmy peeps waste three Best Actress noms on the DH gals? I'd much rather see two of them go to Kristen and Lauren. Or at least, two other actesses who actually are talented. Although, I did used to like Marcia on MP, and I was obsessed with Lois and Clark while it was on... anyway, I'm not really crazy about any of the actresses. I'm much more partial to JM's tushie.
Maybe they should add a new category next year...

I am bummed that Lauren Graham has been overlooked. She deserves the accolades.
Maybe in her honor I should watch Lucky 13. Yeah, to heck with the Emmys!

Maybe we should just turn the Emmy's into the Nudie awards. Best Abs, best Chest, back, shoulders, the possibilties are endless!
I watched them announce some of the noms when I was getting ready for work, and I was really disappointed that they overlooked VM and GG. THey are such great shows, and they deserve to have such honors.
But then, maybe having thousands of fans start a campaign to keep you on the air is a better pat on the back than any rigged award could ever be.

That's why I mentioned SATC... Your love for it astounds me. I can't get beyond SJP. I like KC's vixen behavior. But then, I am just harboring anger for shows that get all their characters nominated for one category and wolf up the spots. It never is fair. :(

Yeah, it's not fair for shows to get three spots. I wanted to gag when I saw that. Ew. Those spots could have been put to better use to give them to LG and KB. At least they're talented and on shows that require some level of intelligence to understand, along with being touching and well written dramas that touch your heart. DH just rocks because of the eye candy.
And A? I'm so with you on that Nudie awards. We should get started on founding them. That way, we can reach out and touch all of the celebs we want and not get slapped with a dozen law suits!

The Nudie Awards aren't like the Skin typ awards that you just mentioned. They are much more tasteful than that. And there will be no women allowed in any category. Just the gorgeous men with their amazing abs...

And let's not get me started on Robert Downey, Jr. I'ved loved him since the early 80s. I'm obessesed. (no, really.)He might be the hottest man on this planet. Only You was one of my most favoritest movies. Just for the romantic Downey viewing.
